The Amazing Te Anau

It was a short time in Invercargill, and we then drove to Te Anau. We got there just after lunchtime. When we got there we went and checked in at our motel. We were getting hungry, so we asked the man at reception where the best place to eat was. He had just finished a pie and told us to go where he got his pie, Miles Better Pies. They were so yummy!!!! After eating the delicious pies, we went and looked around at a few shops that were nearby. Olivia got 2 jackets to wear when we go to the glowworm caves. I got one jacket to wear to the glowworm caves, because I forgot to pack one. Once we had looked at the shops we got a photo with the fake Pukeko that was there. We then went back to our motel and watched The Ellen Show, before packing our gear to take with us and driving to Southern Discoveries. When we got there we checked in and got our boarding passes and stickers. After a look around the gift shop, we started to board onto the boat that would take us to the glowworm caves. As we started to the engine we were told a few safety instructions. We then were off. It was such a good view on the way over. The water below us got to about 3-400 metres deep, so you wouldn't want to drop anything in the water! After about 10 minutes Olivia, Dad, and I went upstairs, where it was very windy. After about 30 minutes we arrived on the small island. We were taken to a beach house and divided into groups. We were then taken to a platform and were told a few things about the glowworms.  We then went to the start of the glowworm caves and got a photo taken. We then were taken in, the entry was about have a metre high so it was a tight squeeze. We were then walking around and were told some things about the glowworms. Then after about 25 minutes were were taken on a boat, and floated in pitch black. Ten seconds later we saw thousands of tiny glowworms hanging above us. We were then taken to dry land and then out of the caves. We then went back to the beach house for a spot of tea and coffee. We then look at our photo, but we didn't get it becuase it was $39.00. After that we got to see a presentation of  glowworms. It was pretty amazing. After the presentation we went on the nature walk that you can do. It took 5 minutes but took longer because we took photos. We then got back, but almost missed the boat to get back to Te Anau. We ran to the boat and got to the boat just in time. It was a great journey back to Te Anau. When we got back to Te Anau, we went to our motel and watched TV. We stayed up and watched The X Factor! It was sooooo great!!!
