Collecting for the S.P.C.A
On the 6th of June 2015 I collected for the S.P.C.A at pak n save Wainoni. I started at 12pm. If they donated, I would give them a sticker. If they donated more than five dollars i gave them a wristband. It was very interesting meeting some very nice people who donated. My sister and mum sat down and read magazines, while I stood and gave stickers and things. About 30 minutes before we finished mum said that I looked like I was going to faint. So I had a drink of water, but it isn't a surprise I looked like I was going to faint because the sun was shining directly on us. We raised heaps of money and had a good time. We were set up with a table and a chair to sit on. I want to collect for the S.P.C.A again sometime.
Meeting Dav Pilkey
On the 23rd of May I met Dave Pilkey with Oliver A-S at Fendalton school. First Dave was welcomed in by a kapahaka group and he had a tear in his eye. Then he told us a bit about himself and that he has ADHD and didn't do well in school. His whole career started when his 4th grade teacher accidentally said underpants, which gave him the idea of Captain underpants. He then showed us a slideshow of how he became an author and about his pet beetle that helps him write. Once he told us a little bit about himself we played a game, where he would draw a character and ask the audience a question about it. If you got the question right you could win a voucher to the children's book shop and a signed book. At the end of it we went into a line to get our books signed. It was about a half an hour wait. I was lucky enough to get a selfie with him. He was a really cool person and has inspired me to become an author when I am older. It was really fun getting to meet Dave because he is such a hilarious person. I had heaps of fun seeing him, and hope I could meet him again.

The 40 hour famine
On the 22nd of May at 4pm I started the 40 hour famine. I did the no talking challenge. Well I wasn't allowed to talk my sister talked a lot!!! There were so many thing I had to say. But I just couldn't. I was given a pen and some paper to write on, when I desperately needed to but that was like all the time and my hands got sore. The next morning I only had to wait to 12pm! I was ok until then, but I wanted to talk so badly. At 12pm I could finally talk. It didn't feel right talking about 10 minutes later but then I was back to normal and my normal talkative self. 😜
